Ford Introduces New Fiesta
Published Date: 20th Feb 2008
Ford recently unveiled the new model Ford Fiesta at the Geneva Motor Show.
The design of the new model Ford Fiesta is based on the Ford Verve concept and it is set to be available from Autumn 2008. The Ford Fiesta has been a long-term success for Ford with over 12 million cars sold since it was first launched in 1976. The new design is likely to mean continued success for the highly popular model.
Ford’s ‘kinetic design,’ which has been used on all new models released by Ford, is continued in this new Ford model. The new Ford Fiesta is a significant leap forward from the current Fiesta in terms of style and technology.
One of the new features included in the new model Fiesta is Ford’s Convers system which controls sat nav, trip computer and mobile phone connectivity functions. This technology is already available in the new model Ford Mondeo, Ford Galaxy and Ford S-Max models but this is a first for a supermini.
The new Ford Fiesta will be available from launch in both 3 and 5 door units and both will share very similar proportions. It will be available in a range of engine choices from 1.25 and 1.4 duratec petrol engines and a new 1.6 Ti-VCT engine. Also on offer will be 1.4 and 1.6 diesel TDCi engines plus a new ECOnetic engine which produces less than 100g/km of CO2 will be available at a later date.
