Published Date: 11th Jan 2006
Ford has announced the name of its new SAV concept vehicle the S-Max.
It will uniquely feature three seats on the front row and is built to offer maximum comfort and accommodation through the new Ford Flat System (FFS), which allows for a seven-seat configuration.
It will also come in a range of engines, including a 2.7 V6 turbo diesel that is already being used by the Jaguar S-type.

Based on the C-Max, the cheap new car is intended as an upgrade of that vehicle, matching sporty looks with comfortable accommodation and driving pleasure.
Full technical details are expected following its launch in February at the Geneva motor show, although experts believe the chassis will be modelled on the new Mondeo due out in 2007.
Prices for the S-Max are widely expected to start from £15,000, when the cheap new car is launched in the summer.
