Published Date: 7th May 2007

According to recent figures the Ford Focus was the best selling car in Europe in March 2007. The Ford Focus has consistently been among the top selling models since 1998 in the UK, but this is the first time it has also been the top selling model across Europe.

For the first quarter of 2007 the top selling car in Europe has been the Vauxhall/Opel Corsa, followed by the Fiat Punto, the Ford Focus, the Peugeot 207, the Renault Clio, the Vauxhall/Opel Astra, the Ford Fiesta and finally the VW Golf in eighth place.

However, VW still has the highest level of car sales across the European market with Ford now overtaking Vauxhall/Opel for second place. Renault comes in at fourth place followed by Peugeot and finally Toyota in sixth place. This marks an increase in car sales for Toyota of 12% since 2006.
