Five Stars for New Nissan Qashqai

The new Nissan Qashqai has received the highest ever safety score from Euro NCAP. It achieved the full 5 stars for adult occupancy protection, achieving the highest ever recorded score of 36.83 out of a possible 37 points for front and side impact tests.

The Qashqai also gained 4 stars for child protection, and although it only achieved 2 stars for pedestrian protection, it was only 0.38 points off a 3 star rating. The Toyota Auris is the only car in this class to achieve a higher score in these two areas.

The Qashqai has been on sale in the UK since Spring 2007 and is build at the Nissan plant in Sunderland. It will go on sale around the world during 2007. It comes as either a 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive and in four different engine types – 2 petrol engines and 2 diesels.
