Citroen wins safety award

Leading road safety charity, Brake Fleet Safety, have honoured Citroen the Best Vehicle Manufacturer 2009 award, to officially recognise their continuous efforts in reducing road casualties.

Citroen include a wide range of innovative safety technology including, lane departure warning system, directional headlamps, laminated safety glass, fixed-hub steering-wheel which includes a special torso-shaped airbag. Also included on the Citroen C6 is the revolutionary active bonnet system and head-up display.

In addition there are many more conventional safety features, such as electronic stability programme, advanced traction control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution and emergency braking assistance with reinforced cabin structure and up to nine airbags.

Citroens models are among the highest rated by industry experts EuroNCAP, with the Citroen C6 being one of the safest cars on the road today. It was the first ever model to achieve a maximum 5-star rating for both pedestrian safety and adult occupant protection.

The Citroen C4 also holds 5-stars for adult occupant safety and 4-stars for child occupant protection.
