Cars Not Kids For British Women

Published Date: 9th Mar 2006

Cheap car finance, not kids, is increasingly the priority of young women in Britain, according to new research.

It is now expected that a recent boom in car sales and cheap car finance deals to women between the age of 29 and 44 will lead to women purchasing over five million cars in 2006.

In total the motor industry expects to shift just over ten million cheap new cars this year.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, editor of Evecars.com, Lesley Jones explained: "A huge number of women don't settle down until their 30s and 40s and they are opting for possessions such as cars before spending their money on having kids."

She added: "There is a clear trend among independent, affluent women to treat themselves to the better things in life before they settle down. This includes squeezing every moment of maximum enjoyment from their hard-earned cash by driving their dream car.
