New Audi S8 V10

Audi looks set to turn the status quo on its head by fitting a flair-filled, Lambo-developed, V10 into the new Audi S8 Quattro. The same 5.2-litre power-plant drives the revered Gallardo and propels the S8 from 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds.

This is the first ever V10 packaged by Audi and has required the development of a new suspension set up to properly harness its power. The new Audi adaptive air-suspension system melds with the latest Quattro 4x4 drive to provide 40 per cent of the power to the front wheels and 60 per cent to the rear.

According to the manufacturer this gives the new Audi S8 the best handling characteristics of its entire range.
