The Qashqai is Nissan’s mid-sized, practical SUV/Crossover that sells in huge numbers in the UK, in fact it is the best-selling SUV in the UK.
The new 3rd generation model-range takes a huge leap forward with a long list of safety and driver aids as standard, new styling, two tone paint options and improved interior tech/build quality.

2021 Nissan Qashqai Visia models get 17-inch steel wheels, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and shark fin antenna.
Interior
Inside you get cloth upholstery, there is no touchscreen, so if this is a must have for you, you’ll need to start your research with the Acenta Premium trim-level. You do however get all the other essentials including a DAB radio and Bluetooth that supports both handsfree phone calls and music streaming.
There’s also a 7-inch TFT driver display, manual air con, electronic parking brake and hill start/hold assist.
Safety and Driver Aids/Tech
Nissan have really gone to town with all the standard safety and driver aids. As well as some of the more staple requirements like rear parking sensors, all round air bags and ant-theft alarm, you also get a long list of state-of-the-art driver aids that include:
Intelligent Front Emergency Braking (with Pedestrian, Cyclist & Junction recognition).
Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (warning driver of impending collision).
Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention
Blind Spot Warning and Blind Spot Intervention (warns and can adjust steering to prevent a collision with a vehicle in your blind spot).
Driver Attention Alert(detects driving patterns consistent with a tired driver, uses audible alert and encourages driver to take a break).

Traffic sign recognition (Detect various road signs and notifies the driver of speed limits for example).

The Visia is available with just a single engine with a 6-speed manual transmission (there is no automatic option), the 1.3 Dig-T 140 petrol unit with mild hybrid technology.
The 140bhp engine is punchy enough for around town driving, 0-62mph is achievable in a fraction over 10 seconds. Combined fuel economy is up to 44mpg and combined real world CO2 emissions are as low as 143g/km.
Acenta Premium Model
Exterior Styling & Lights
Over the entry-level Visia model, new Acenta Premium wheels are upgraded to 17-inch alloy wheels and the electrically adjustable, heated door mirrors are additionally folding.
Lights include LED headlights/daytime running lights and there is a shark fin antenna.
Interior
Acenta Premium adds to the Visia trim-level with an 8-inch colour touchscreen entertainment system with the NissanConnect platform (includes integrated navigation, rear view camera and smartphone mirroring with wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay).
Other additions to the Visia model include leather steering wheel/gear knob, dual zone automatic air con, keyless entry, and driver seat with 2-way electric lumbar adjustment.
Acenta Premium models get cloth upholstery and include other staple requirements like DAB radio, Bluetooth (supports both handsfree phone calls and music streaming) with steering wheel mounted controls. The Acenta Premium model is available with the 1.3 Dig-T 140 petrol unit with mild hybrid technology (5-speed manual transmission only). It’s a good around town option, 0-62mph in 10.2 secs, up to 44mpg (combined) and emissions as low 143g/km (WLTP combined).
There is a is also a more power DIG-T 158 petrol unit available with 6-speed manual or 7-speed Xtronic automatic transmission.
The manual DIG-T 158 is punchier than the 140 DIG-T with a 0-62mph of around 9.5 seconds, at the same time it returns virtually the same economy figures.
The 7-speed Xtronic model is a tad quicker (0-62mph in 9.2 seconds) whilst returning very similar economy figures.

Over the Acenta Premium the new 2021 Qashqai N-Connecta model adds 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and privacy glass.
N-Connecta trim also includes electrically adjustable, folding, and heated door mirrors.

Interior
N-Connecta adds to the Acenta Premium with a large 12.3-inch digital driver display.
N-Connecta includes a larger touchscreen (upgraded from an 8-inch on Acenta Premium models to 9-inch colour touchscreen).
The NissanConnect platform is also upgraded to include additional ‘Connected Services’ that offers access to various online resources like social media platforms and Google search which can be combined with the Google voice assistant.
Connected Services also adds additional features to the integrated navigation and smartphone mirroring is upgraded from wired to wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.
N-Connecta also gets the rear-view camera but in addition to Acenta Premium models you also get an around view monitor with ‘moving object detection’. As well as the rear parking sensors N-Connecta also adds front sensors.
Other standard features include leather steering wheel/gear knob, dual zone automatic air con, keyless entry, and driver seat with 2-way electric lumbar adjustment.
N-Connecta models get high quality cloth interior and include other standard features like DAB radio, Bluetooth (for handsfree phone calls and music streaming), steering wheel mounted controls. You also get an electronic parking brake with hill start/hold assist.
A further addition to Acenta Premium models is centre console ambient lighting.

N-Connecta gets the rear-view camera (integrated with the colour touchscreen) and rear parking sensors.
In addition to Acenta Premium trim-level you also get front parking sensors and the around view monitor with ‘moving object detection’ which can aid the driver in various scenarios, for example parking in tight spaces.

There is a more power DIG-T 158 petrol unit (158bhp) available with 6-speed manual or 7-speed Xtronic automatic gearbox.
The DIG-T 158 equipped with manual transmission is punchier than the 140 DIG-T (0-62mph in 9.5 seconds), whilst it returns virtually the same economy figures.
The 7-speed Xtronic automatic model is a tad quicker (0-62mph in 9.2 seconds) whilst returning very-similar economy figures too.
The main difference here between the Acenta Premium and N-Connecta model is the N-Connecta DIG-T 158 automatic can also be had with intelligent AWD (all-wheel drive), bear in mind economy figures will take a bit of hit if you choose an AWD model.

Tekna models get a fair number of interior upgrades over the N-Connecta model including ambient light (front door panels and centre console), part Syntech leather and cloth upholstery, 8-way electrically adjustable drivers’ seat, heated front seats/steering wheel, heated windscreen and the best in class 10-inch head up display.
Manual Tekna models add Driver Assist and Automatic models get ProPILOT, these systems add advanced semi-autonomous driving features on top of the long list of hi-tech safety and driver aids.
