Nissan ProPILOT Remote Parking: Move Your Car With The Push of a Button

Published Date: 13th Feb 2023

Move your car in and out of a parking spot by operating the Intelligent Key from outside your car.

Nissan's ProPILOT Remote Parking system is a cutting-edge technology that allows you to move your car in and out of tight spots and parking spaces with a simple button. Nissan's system uses Intelligent Key technology, allowing you to control the car when it is not occupied by you or anyone else. This makes it easier to get out of cramped spaces, as well as helps to reduce worries about dents and scratches to the car due to tight manoeuvring.

How it works:

Nissan Propilot SystemWhen Nissan's ProPILOT Remote Parking system is activated, it links the car's accelerator, brake, steering, and transmission. The Intelligent Key is then used to send signals for either backward or forward movement. Additionally, twelve sonar sensors are installed on the front and rear bumpers of the car to detect obstacles around it, like cars or pedestrians. The car will adjust its direction accordingly if an obstacle is detected on one side and will stop at a certain distance away from any obstacle that may be in its path.

For example, Nissan's ProPILOT Remote Parking can prove especially useful when taking your car out of a garage where space may be limited. You can first unlock and activates the system by pressing and holding down the unlock/system on the switch found on the Intelligent Key. Then, press both the forward switch and unlock/system on switch together to move your car into position before rereleasing them once the desired parking spot has been reached. When ready to shut off Nissan's ProPILOT Remote Parking system, simply press the lock/system off switch, which shifts your car into the "P" (Park) position while activating its electronic parking brake, thus turning off all power within Nissan's system.

Though Nissan's ProPILOT Remote Parking system can make getting in and out of narrow spots much simpler than usual, care should still be taken when operating this technology around people or other vehicles nearby since their movements may not always be fully accounted for yet. By understanding Nissan's ProPILOT system better, though - as well as knowing how it works - you can make sure that this revolutionary piece of technology safely gets your vehicle parked without worry time after time!
