New Nissan Micra sounds off

The cheap new Nissan Micra C+C looks set to be a must for all image conscious music lovers.

A unique six-speaker music system comes as standard in all cheap new Micra C+Cs and has a Digital Signal Processing system (DSP) that switches between two settings depending on whether the roof is up or down.

Depending on distortions and background noise the DSP will tune individual frequencies to deliver the best possible sound quality to the cars occupants.

According to the manufacturer, combining DSP with the car's 6.5" woofer, tweeter in each door and subwoofer produces excellent sound quality from even the standard CD/radio player.

The cheap new Micra's preset graphic equaliser also allows the driver to select between Enhance, Acoustic or Live settings.

Drivers who can stretch to the top of the range 1.6-litre ESSENZA model will also receive a six CD autochanger to go with their enhanced speaker system.

However, Nissan Europe's studio chief designer Makoto Yamane believes that it is not just snazzy sound effects that will attract buyers to the new drop top.

"Not only does it provide all the style of a convertible, it remains a practical prospect thanks to its sizeable boot," he explained. "With Micra C+C, owning a convertible need no longer be a compromise."
