The sky's the limit for the new Micra

Nissan has said that its new Micra C+C, which was designed and engineered in the UK, and will also be built in the UK.

The Micra C+C was first shown at the 2002 Paris motor show and features a folding hardtop which is made largely of glass to create an open-air feeling whether the roof is up or put away.

Development and production of the hardtop has been undertaken for Nissan by Karmann, specialists in the design and production of convertible models.

Makoto Yamane, studio chief designer at Nissan Design Europe, said: "Micra C+C adds a new dimension to the Micra family. Not only does it provide all the style of a convertible, it remains a practical prospect thanks to its sizeable boot. With Micra C+C, owning a convertible need no longer be a compromise."
