Cheap new Vauxhall gets cheap new wheels


An innovative new hubcap could make your cheap new Vauxhall look like a fully blinged up cruiser at a fraction of the cost.


The new five spoke steel wheel is fitted as standard on the cheap new Vauxhall Vectra Exclusive and should be available soon on the rest of the Vauxhall range. A plastic, alloy-look cover is then attached, hiding the steel. According to the manufacturer this makes the wheel practically indistinguishable from the real thing.

As well as the cosmetic attraction a Vauxhall spokesman explained that the wheels could save money for careless parkers: "This new design of steel wheel is ideal for people who want the stylish look of an alloy, but are worried about kerbing them," he told Autoexpress.

According to Vauxhall, the Structure Wheel is available in 16-inch and weighs only slightly more than an equivalently sized alloy.

The cheap new Vauxhall Vectra Exclusiv model will replace the existing Vectra Expression in October this year. On top of the current Expression spec, the Exclusiv will come with Structure Wheels, air conditioning and six airbags as standard.

The new Vauxhall Vectra range will keep the Life, Design and Elite variants, while a sporty new 246bhp VXR model, complete with real alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers and extended side skirts, will top the range.
