Because our new cars are already heavily discounted, most of the cars we sell aren't eligible for a further £2,000 discount under the Government Scrappage Scheme. There are however a few exceptions where the scheme can be applied to some of the new cars we sell, further reducing the cost of your new car (if you are eligible to take part in the scrappage scheme).
Keep checking the site for details or sign up for our newsletter to make sure you don't miss out on any great deals.
Some of the main points of the Scrappage Scheme are:

Back to topVAT goes back up to 17.5% on January 1st 2010 and as a result, all car prices will increase by 2.5% - or £500 on a £20,000 car.
Any car paid for after this date will be subject to the new Government rate of VAT.
Just as importantly, any car delivered on or after this date will also be subject to the new rate of VAT.
Given the fact that in some circumstances, factory orders can take 8-10 weeks, we urge that if you are thinking of buying a new car, you err on the side of caution and buy sooner rather than later to avoid any VAT increases. If you have any questions about this, please call us on 0845 170 7770 to see what we can do for you
Back to topFrom 2010, the year identifying number will continue to use the last two digits of the year for cars registered in March, with 50 added to that number for those cars registered in September. So, for example a new car bought in March 2010 would have the licence plate registration number MC10 UKC, etc:
2010: March 10 and September 60
2011: 11 and 61
2012: 12 and 62
2013: 13 and 63
2014: 14 and 64, etc.
Back to topUK Car Discount offer several other services, as well as being the country's number one online car dealer. Our full range of services are:
Since we don't represent the vehicle manufacturer like car dealer showrooms do, we are not required to follow the pricing structure set out by the manufacturer. We do however have very good agreements with our many suppliers for the supply of vehicles to us at huge discounts which we endeavour to pass on to our customers. We therefore aim to operate with a high turnover and low profit margin to continue to deliver cars at fantastically low prices.
We also do not have all the overheads a traditional car dealer has, such as a car showroom and car sales people hanging around, so we can pass those additional savings on to you - our customers.
Back to topWe only offer cars with confirmed production/delivery dates. We cannot be responsible if these dates change due to manufacturing/dealer or supplier problems. We do however take every precaution necessary to ensure that all timescales are met and have learnt to overstate rather than understate delivery times to avoid disappointments.
Back to topNo, All our supplied vehicles are sold at the maximum discounted price whichever payment method is used.
Back to topWe welcome Part–Exchanges and are happy to provide you with our best valuation first time for your vehicle. However we do not require your vehicle to be part of the deal so if you wish to sell it privately that’s no problem either, the choice is yours. Take a look at our Part Exchange page to find out more, or simply fill in the Contact Usform with as much detail as possible.
Back to topWe require a £500 deposit to secure your chosen vehicle at the price we have quoted. If the vehicle has a value of £20,000 or more we will require a larger deposit.
Back to topYes all our vehicles are uk dealer supplied and delivered with the manufacturers full warranty and breakdown package. Most manufacturers now supply 3 year 60,000 mile warranties however Hyundai for example offer 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. So our vehicles come with the exact same warranty you would get if you bought the vehicle direct from the dealer. Just because you are saving money on your new vehicle purchase you do not loose any of the manufacturer’s warranty.
Back to topYour 1st point of contact will be our customer service department. We will contact the manufacture on your behalf and provide details of your local dealership to carry out any warranty work required. If your vehicle is due a routine service contact your dealer direct but try not to rub the dealers nose in it by saying how much you saved buying on the internet. If you go onto yell.com you can search for your nearest dealer. Any problems call our customer service department 0845 170 7770.
Back to topYes no problem at all, we offer free delivery anywhere in the mainland UK.
Back to topYes we only sell 100% full UK specification vehicles supplied by UK dealerships. We do not sell any imported vehicles at all.
Back to topThe final payment for your vehicle is payable on delivery when you have inspected the vehicle and are totally happy. A bank draft or building society cheque is required, alternatively we can provide finance for your new purchase.
Back to topOnce you have placed an order your deposit receipt and invoice will be posted to your home address. Most of our advertised vehicles are available for delivery 2-4 weeks. Delivery time for your chosen vehicle depends on our and the manufacturers stock, however you will be contacted within 3 working days with an accurate delivery time. The main principle of UK car discount.co.uk is to supply your vehicle as quickly as possible and have the payment in our account.
Back to topYou have a choice between Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), Lease Purchase (LP) and Hire Purchase (HP). Please see our Car Finance section for specific questions and answers about financing your new car. (Will open in new window.)
Back to topAll are types of hire purchase agreements and are protected by the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The main differences are:
Alas no - all our new cars come with free delivery within the UK mainland (with a few exceptions, e.g. the north of Scotland). This way you don't have to worry about the incovenience or expense of getting here - we bring the car to you, or wherever you'd like it delivered.
Back to topIf you have the option of taking over your existing company car from your employer, we should be able to provide the finance on similar terms.
Back to topUnfortunately not. As part of the finance agreement you are obliged to service and look after the car, as you would normally expect. You can, however, remove the risks associated with the day today running costs of the car by taking out a maintenance contract that covers all servicing and repairs subject to normal wear and tear. This is a particular advantage if you drive a high annual mileage (e.g. 15,000 miles per annum plus).
Back to topThis Act covers the finance agreement and lays down certain requirements for your protection that must be satisfied when the agreement is made. If they are not, the funder cannot enforce the agreement against you without a court order. The Act also gives you a number of rights including the right to settle the agreement at any time by giving notice in writing and paying off all amounts payable under the agreement, reduced by a rebate.
Back to topWe have a range of insurances available to protect you covering areas such as Life, Accident, Sickness & Unemployment and also insurance write off (GAP) protection – visit the Employee Protection section of this site for further details.
