Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

What format are the new car plates for 2012 and beyond?

From 2012, the year identifying number will continue to use the last two digits of the year for cars registered in March, with 50 added to that number for those cars registered in September. So, for example a new car bought in March 2012 would have the licence plate registration number MC12 UKC, etc:

2012: March 12 and September 62

2013: 13 and 63

2014: 14 and 64, etc.

How can you sell your cars so much cheaper than my local dealer?

Since we don't represent the vehicle manufacturer like car dealer showrooms do, we are not required to follow the pricing structure set out by the manufacturer. We do however have very good agreements with our many suppliers for the supply of vehicles to us at huge discounts which we endeavour to pass on to our customers. We therefore aim to operate with a high turnover and low profit margin to continue to deliver cars at fantastically low prices.

We also do not have all the overheads a traditional car dealer has, such as a car showroom and car sales people hanging around, so we can pass those additional savings on to you - our customers.

What is the position if the vehicle ordered is delayed?

We only offer cars with confirmed production/delivery dates. We cannot be responsible if these dates change due to manufacturing/dealer or supplier problems. We do however take every precaution necessary to ensure that all timescales are met and have learnt to overstate rather than understate delivery times to avoid disappointments.

Is there any further discount if we pay cash for the vehicle?

Do you accept part exchanges?

We welcome Part–Exchanges and are happy to provide you with our best valuation first time for your vehicle. How much deposit will I require?

We require a £500 deposit to secure your chosen vehicle at the price we have quoted. If the vehicle has a value of £20,000 or more we will require a larger deposit.

Do your vehicles come with the manufacturers warranty?

Yes all our vehicles are uk dealer supplied and delivered with the manufacturers full warranty and breakdown package. Most manufacturers now supply 3 year 60,000 mile warranties however Hyundai for example offer 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. So our vehicles come with the exact same warranty you would get if you bought the vehicle direct from the dealer. Just because you are saving money on your new vehicle purchase you do not loose any of the manufacturer’s warranty.

Will I be the second recorded keeper on the V5/log book?

This will depend on the method we use to source your new vehicle. Sometimes we obtain the best deal for you by offering vehicles where you will be the second Registered Keeper, or joint first owner, where your name appears on the Log Book as “Care of” the first Registered Keeper. We will explain this process to you upon application. If this was to apply to your purchase we will always inform you in writing before you buy. We will also provide you with all the information you need to make your decision to buy. Note there is no retention whatsoever of the V5 logbook in any of our sales.

Will this affect my insurance?

Finance Information

What types of finance are available?

You have a choice between Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), Lease Purchase (LP) and Hire Purchase (HP). Please see our Car Finance section for specific questions and answers about financing your new car. (Will open in new window.)

What is the difference between PCP, LP and HP agreements?

All are types of hire purchase agreements and are protected by the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The main differences are:

  • Hire Purchase Agreements (HP) – Payments are made evenly over the period of the agreement.
  • Lease Purchase (LP) – Equal Payments are made over the period of the agreement together with an agreed final payment. The effect is a low monthly finance payment without mileage restriction.

Can I save money and collect the car myself?

Alas no - all our new cars come with free delivery within the UK mainland (with a few exceptions, e.g. the north of Scotland). This way you don't have to worry about the incovenience or expense of getting here - we bring the car to you, or wherever you'd like it delivered.

Can I finance my existing company car?

If you have the option of taking over your existing company car from your employer, we should be able to provide the finance on similar terms.

Is servicing and maintenance free?

Unfortunately not. As part of the finance agreement you are obliged to service and look after the car, as you would normally expect. You can, however, remove the risks associated with the day today running costs of the car by taking out a maintenance contract that covers all servicing and repairs subject to normal wear and tear. This is a particular advantage if you drive a high annual mileage (e.g. 15,000 miles per annum plus).

You mention the Consumer Credit Act – what does it do?

This Act covers the finance agreement and lays down certain requirements for your protection that must be satisfied when the agreement is made. If they are not, the funder cannot enforce the agreement against you without a court order. The Act also gives you a number of rights including the right to settle the agreement at any time by giving notice in writing and paying off all amounts payable under the agreement, reduced by a rebate.
