New Mazda3 production boost
Mazda has been forced to ramp up production of cheap new Mazda3s due to an unexpected increase in car sales.
An extra 2,000 new Mazda3s will be produced per month, with many being shipped to the UK, were the sporty compact has been well received. Since its launch in October 2003 the Mazda3 has won over 50 consumer and media awards worldwide.
With its ABS, power steering and twin airbags as standard the Mazda3 has shifted over 16,000 units in the UK and is considered by many to be an excellent low cost alternative to buying the likes of a new Ford Focus, Volkswagen Bora, Peugeot 307, Audi A3 or Volkswagen Golf.

Mazda Motors UK marketing director Jeremy Thomson explained the success of Mazda3 so far: "The Mazda3 represents a fresh alternative in what is essentially a very crowded and competitive segment dominated by the volume manufacturers.
"It is a segment where customers want more than the standard car; they want an involving drive, quality and durability. Mazda3 adds these attributes in abundance injecting a little bit of zoom-zoom to the sector."
The Mazda3 is obviously part of the new Mazda family, sharing a number of styling features with the Mazda6 and RX-8. It is available with both petrol and diesel engines and online sale prices start at just £11,285 for the amply equipped new Mazda3 1.6 TS five-door manual.
