Mazda sales solid in April - 18/05/2005
Mazda performed solidly in April this year, with sales volumes of 26,000 recorded and a projected market share of 1.6 per cent.
These figures nearly match the figures for last April, which is particularly impressive given that the industry has declined Europe-wide by 1.6 per cent in the intervening time.
Particularly strong sales were recorded in Russia and Spain where new sales records were set, and 13 individual markets equalled or exceeded their sales objectives.
"Our April sales held steady in tough market conditions across Europe, allowing us to start the new fiscal year on a good footing," commented James Muir, Vice President of Sales for Mazda Motor Europe.
Mr Muir concluded: "We will definitely build on this success during the coming months as we roll out our new line-up of models including the new Mazda5, Mazda6 MPS and the third generation of the world's most popular roadster the Mazda MX-5."
