Ford Focus tops the lot. . .again
The Ford Focus continues to dominate low cost UK car sales, as figures released yesterday confirmed it as Britain's favourite car during May and in the year to date.
Ford has a number of markets covered by various Focus models. Currently on offer are well spec'd three, four and five door models as well as the C-MAX Multi-Activity version.
All of these platforms are available with a range of different equipment packages and engines including the startlingly quick and nippy Focus RS, which comes with driver's side stupefied grin as standard!
This is the seventh year since its launch that the Focus has beaten off competition from the likes of the Vauxhall Astra, Renault Megane and Volkswagen Golf to become Britain's best selling car.
As a brand Ford held more of the market in May than any other manufacturer, with15.2 per. As well as the Ford Focus the Ford Fiesta and Ford Mondeo also helped boost the company's overall sales.
Commenting on the figures, Paul Thomas, managing director of Ford Britain, said: "With all new Focus models available and selling fast, its no surprise that the car leads the UK sales charts. Focus redefined the medium car segment in 1998 and is rewriting the rulebook again this year."
The figures, which include online car deals, also saw Saab achieve their biggest ever market share selling 2,382 cars in May. According to the company, increased sales of the Saab 9-3 convertible, and pre-orders for the Saab 9-3 SportWagon were both important factors in the overall increase
