New Coupe for Hyundai

 

Hyundai has recently unveiled a concept rear-wheel drive Coupe, called Genesis, at the Los Angeles Motor Show.   

 

Although billed as a concept, the Genesis coupe is likely to be very close to the actual production model that will be shown in April 2008 at the New York Auto Show.  It is then due to go on sale in Spring 2009.

 

The new rear-wheel drive Hyundai coupe will have a 3.8 litre V6 engine, producing over 300bhp and achieving 0-60mph in less than 6 seconds.   It has a 6-speed manual gearbox, twin exhausts, 20” wheels, high-performance Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential.

 

Hyundai also announced that another, smaller, front-drive coupe will also be produced – this will be based on the Velostar concept car which was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007.      This smaller coupe is also due to go on sale in 2009 to replace the popular current model Hyundai Coupe.
