New VW Passat estate launches
It has taken almost ten years for Volkswagen to release a new Passat. However following last month's launch of the solid new saloon, the details of the new VW Passat estate have also now been released.
From the outside the new VW Passat estate shares the same deep grill, distinctive headlights and chrome detailing that gives the new Passat its aggressive, purposeful stance.
Meanwhile details like the low profile front fog lamps and wing mirror mounted indicators typify Volkswagen's much vaunted attention to detail.
The key to a successful estate though is of course space and ease of loading. It is here that the new cheap VW Passat estate excels.

With the back seats up the Passat offers 513 litres of space, while VW claims that with seats folded down, and the roof fully loaded the new Passat estate driver has 1,641 litres of space at their disposal.
While impressive though its load capacity still falls short of the cheap new Ford Mondeo which has 1,700 litres of space, and the class leading cheap new Vauxhall Vectra estate with 1,850.
The new Volkswagen Passat estate will be available with a range of diesel and petrol engines and the manufacturer expects the majority to be supplied with TDI diesel engines.
High spec options such as keyless entry, DVD satellite navigation and a ten-speaker sound system mean that the Passat can compete with executive brands such BMW and Mercedes.
However with cheap new Volkswagen Passats now available through UK Car Discount the VW is a great low cost, no compromise alternative.
