Special edition Volkswagen Touareg launched (24/08/2006 at 18:29)
A new special edition of the Volkswagen Touareg has been launched.
Named the Altitude, the car has been released to celebrate the new world record set by the Touareg as it ascended to the highest point on earth that can be reached by a motor vehicle.
The new model comes with a V6 diesel engine, 19-inch alloy wheels, twin exhaust pipes made of stainless steel and tinted rear glass windows.
Auto Express reports the car "absorbs road bumps very well "and has a well equipped and com¬fortable cabin" hence providing "a very capable SUV".
Announcements of the new Volkswagen Altitude come soon after news that the Volkswagen Touareg is to get a smaller sibling in the shape of the Tiguan.
Pictures of the car, still in development, were released yesterday and show that the vehicle will be sleeker and sportier than the Touareg.
Release dates are as yet unavailable, though current editions of the Volkswagen Touareg are available now with new car finance deals such as personal contract purchase contracts.
