New Citroen C4 Picasso previewed (11/08/2006 at 17:09)
Confirming industry speculation, the C4 is set to get a big brother, Auto Express reports.
Citroen's award-winning family car will be released as a larger people carrier, called the C4 Picasso.
Coming in at the same price range as the Renault Scenic – originally itself an enlarged version of a best-selling hatch, the Megane – the motoring website expects the C4 Picasso to retail from £14,000.
Offering seven seats for larger families and days out, the C4 Picasso is also functional, with the back two rows of seats folding completely flat for shifting large furniture, or even storing bikes and a tent for a trip away without the kids.
An enlarged windscreen offers greater visibility, a boon for safe driving from a higher position, and a sunroof and reading lamps set into the seat backs will keep the rest of the car well lit, whatever time of day.
The official unveiling of Citroen's new vehicle is expected at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from September 30th.
