Vauxhall closing the new car gap

More pre-registrations were taken for new Vauxhalls than any other make of car in July this year.

Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed that the manufacturer pre-registered 97 cheap new Vauxhall cars, with a total sales value of £864,214.

The data also showed that cheap new Fords, such as the new Ford Focus, held the highest share of the UK market in 2004, with 14.3 per cent. Vauxhalls however are closing the gap and now account for 12.66 per cent.

Vauxhall is hoping that the introduction of its VXR range of cheap new sports cars will provide an even greater market share.
