Subaru tweaks the Legacy
The freshly tweaked Subaru Legacy has arrived in Europe hot on the heals of the new Subaru Forester 4x4.

The entry-level model now comes with a two-litre engine. Replacing the outgoing 2.5 litre option it produces 165bhp, which is driven through all four wheels taking it from standing to 60mph in 9.2 seconds.
Although a new exhaust system makes the car quieter and improves performance economy is an issue for those hoping for some cheap new Legacy motoring. Subaru claims that the car manages 32.4mpg with emissions levels higher than its predecessors.
However the new Subaru Legacy does come with 17" alloy wheels, cruise control and climate control all as standard and when bought through a cheap online car sale it costs a similar amount to a new Ford Focus hatchback.

The days of the cheap new Subaru Legacy could be coming to an end though. According to reports Subaru has decided that for the Legacy to make significant sales in Europe it needs to be repositioned in the market. The plan over the coming year is to shed the cheap new Subaru Legacy image, re-spec the car, raise the price and aim it at the new BMW, Mercedes and Lexus markets, so for those looking for a discounted new Subaru Legacy the message is act now.
