With the 158bhp model capable of figures like that it is no surprise that the new Subaru Impreza WRX saloon and WRX STI models deliver eye-watering levels of performance from their 2.5 litre engines. According to the manufacturer the WRX pushes out 227bhp while lucky drivers of the STI model have 277bhp at their disposal. With it they can go from standing to 60mph in five seconds and end up travelling at 158.4 mph if they keep their foot to the floor. Standard interior equipment throughout the range includes a CD player, air conditioning and sports seats. Subaru's new World Rally Championship (WRC) car is set to be unveiled next week (October 19th) at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.
