Citroen will be launching its new C-Crosser at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. Designed to appeal to drivers who like outdoor pursuits, it will be Citroen’s first SUV and will be on sale in Europe from the summer. The C-Crosser will have a 2.2 HDi, 156 bhp, engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The new Citroen C4 Picasso is set to go on sale this spring as a 5-seater version. Sitting between the standard Picasso and the 7-seat C4 Picasso (now known as the Grand C4 Picasso) - the new five seat version looks very stylish. At 12cm shorter than the 7-seater model it has a sportier feel featuring larger front air intakes, chrome side strips and different rear taillights.
Citroen is to launch a fuel-efficient version of the Citroen Berlingo Multispace, following a two-year experimental trial to design new environmentally friendly vehicles. Another intrinsic feature of the 2006 Citroen C6 is its unique style, which has been described as "flamboyant" by website Carpages. Delegates at a recent motor show in Geneva heard that the car was built in response to demand for more originality, especially from buyers in the German market.
Citroen has won the 2006 What Car? Safety Award, showing that it has done the most for improving road safety over the last year. The Citroen C6 flagship contributed to this success after it obtained record results in the Euro NCAP ratings for pedestrian protection. It was the first car to receive a full four-star award in the test, totalling 100 points.
Citroen is marking the 2006 Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham by announcing half-price air conditioning on several of its vehicles, including the Berlingo. As a consequence, customers buying the Citroen Berlingo in this period can get their air conditioning for £240 +VAT, while those purchasing the Dispatch will pat £368 +VAT and buyers of the Relay will now pay ?500 VAT.
Citroen have won the 2006 World Car Design of the Year Award for their C4 model. In particular the judges noted the flexibility which the car's platform design facilitated, helping enable the easy transition between its five-door and coupe designs.
