Volvo will be unveiling some new economical diesel variants of their C30 Sports Coupe, S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon at the Paris Motor Show this October. All variants will emit less than 120g/km of CO2 and will be on sale in the UK from early 2009. They will be identified by Volvo’s new DRIVe logo to show their improved efficiency.
Volvo is introducing a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September – a Volvo C30 hybrid called the ReCharge Concept which can be plugged in to mains electricity. Volvo claim that this will allow the car to do 62 miles on the electricity alone because of lithium-polymer batteries which power 4 electric motors – one for each wheel.

FlexiFuel engines that run on E85 bioethanol fuel1 are now available to order in the C30 Sports Coupe, S40 saloon and V50 SportsWagon.
S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon, have been given a comprehensive external and internal redesign - visually drawing both models closer to Volvo’s all-new S (saloon) and V (estate) styling. With effect from 2008 Volvo model year, production starts in May and first customer cars will arrive in the UK in early July.
