The new Mazda 3 MPS will be unveiled for spectators at the Geneva Motor Show. It will share the 2.3-litre turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine that comes with its elder sibling, the Mazda 6. The engine allows the new Mazda 3 to deliver 274 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, doing an estimated 0-60mph in around six seconds.
The Ford Mondeo will now be available as a new special edition model called the Ford Mondeo Edge. It will come with the option of two petrol and three diesel engines, including the flagship 2.2-litre 155PS TDCi unit. The new Ford Mondeo will come with a multitude of interior settings including air-conditioning, rain-sensing wipers, rear-parking sensors and a CD system with MP3 capability.

Citroen is to reveal its diesel hybrid at the Geneva motor show on January 31 2006. The manufacturer believes the diesel electric hybrid is an effective way of reducing harmful emissions to the environment. In the UK, the Citroen Xsara Picasso was found to have done particularly well, shifting over 200,000 units. It also retained the mantle of Britain's best-selling MPV, outselling competitors Renault and Nissan.
