The recently revamped Nissan, built in Britain, has undergone a serious update to really make itself the class-leading alternative to the traditional hatchback.
Nissan has designed a larger version of its new model Qashqai, giving an extra 2 seats. The new Nissan Qashqai +2 will be on sale from this October and will be on show at the British Motor Show in July when prices will be announced. The wheelbase of the Qashqai has been extended by 135mm and the height by 38mm to allow for a third row of folding seats plus under floor storage areas.
Nissan is changing the trim levels for both the Micra and the Micra C C in line with its new model Nissan Qashqai and the Nissan Note. The new trim levels will now be called – Visia, Acenta, Tekna and Sport SR whilst the Active Luxury trim level remains. Nissan is also initially offering a special limited edition of the Acenta in the hatchback version.
From September 2007 Nissan is changing the name of the trim levels of the popular Nissan Note MPV plus launching a new Note model called the Acenta R. The Nissan Note trim levels will be named Visia, Acenta and Tekna (instead of S, SE and SVE). The R in Acenta R stands for red, with the new model available in Emotion Red with red and black upholstery detail.
The updated Nissan 350z is now available. The new model has a new 309bhp V6 engine in both the Coupe and Roadster versions of the car. The new model 350z now comes in a choice of three new colours – Temper Orange, Twilight Grey and Night Blue – these replace the existing shades of Sunset, Gun Metal Grey and Azure Blue.
The new Nissan Qashqai has received the highest ever safety score from Euro NCAP. It achieved the full 5 stars for adult occupancy protection, achieving the highest ever recorded score of 36.83 out of a possible 37 points for front and side impact tests. The Qashqai also gained 4 stars for child protection, and although it only achieved 2 stars for pedestrian protection, it was only 0.
Nissan has recently cut the prices of its Micra range, with an average price reduction of just over 2% some models have had prices slashed by up to £1500. With specifications unchanged, the reductions are with immediate effect on their new on-the-road prices:- the Initia model has been reduced by £1500.
