New car market holding steady in February 2017

New Car sales held steady in Feb with a drop of just 0.3% compared to last year, The Vw Golf waves goodbye to Dieselgate New car registrations stable in February and demand down just -0.3% to 83,115 units. 2017 performance is up by 1.8% to 257,679 registrations. There was a Big boost for alternatively fuelled vehicles, as they saw a rise of 48.9% for February.

New 2017 Facelift VW Golf

VW Scandal - Only 36,000 cars affected by CO2 issue

Volkswagen has said that nowhere near as many cars as first thought have been affected by inaccurate carbon dioxide emissions and fuel usage measurements. VW now estimate that about 36,000 of the cars it makes each year are affected. This comes just after; it said an internal investigation suggested that CO2 emissions and fuel consumption had been understated for 800,000 vehicles.

Nine Volkswagen Models to Require “Adjustments”

Volkswagen has named nine models that have been retested to find incorrect CO2 emissions being exhausted to the atmosphere than those initially stated. The VW group said all but nine models are in line with the figures originally posted for CO2. The models affected are all listed below and from the 2016 model year, they include petrol, diesel, manual and automatic (DSG) configurations.
