Save Money this Christmas with a New Car at the Lower VAT RateAll vehicles invoiced and paid for by 31st December 2009 will attract the 15% VAT rate, even if delivery is January, or even later. Customers who choose and pay for their new car from UK Car Discount before 31st December 2009 will still be able to take advantage of the reduced VAT rate of 15% on their purchase, even if customers do not take delivery of their new car until January or February, said UK Car Discount, the country’s leading online dealership. Theoretically, say UK Car Discount, it would be possible for a customer to pay for the new 10 registration plate this side of New Year with the VAT rate still at 15% and take receipt of a brand new car for March 1st 2010, saving 2.5% on the VAT rates. In March 2010, registration plates will have the number 10 on them, for example, a registration would be "NU10 CAR". In September the registration would be NU60 CAR. See our Frequently Asked Questions for details on the plate numbers for the 2010's
