Safe Drivers Lose Billions On Car Insurance
Published Date: 6th Mar 2006
British drivers, who fail to shop around for car insurance when their policies come up for renewal, are losing billions, according to research from Privilege Insurance.
On average, drivers with more four years with no claims discount can save £127.52, meaning that drivers miss out on a combined total of over £1.4 billion.
Ian Parker, managing director of Privilege Insurance, said: "Drivers with even one year's no claims discount can save money by shopping around, but for those with four years no claims, the savings can be impressive."
The amount drivers missed out on varied with region, as over half of Scots didn't shop around when they received a renewal notice.
However, drivers in the north-west were most likely to profit from their safe driving records, as almost two-thirds research new deals each year.
