Record breaking Saab 9-3 sales
Saab is reporting record sales for its new Saab 9-3 SportWagon even before the car hits the showrooms.

According to the Scandinavian manufacturer, dealers around the world have ordered over 8,500 new Saab 9-3 SportWagons, a record for the company.
Commenting on the figures an excited Jan-Ake Jonsson, Saab Autmobile's managing director, said: "We are delighted to have a bulging order book for this new product and our main challenge right now is to meet the high level of customer demand at our dealerships.
|
"Customers have so far placed orders purely on the basis of what they have seen and read about the car, so we can look forward to building on this strong momentum as the first display and demonstrator."
Mr Jonsson went on to explain that the unprecedented demand has meant that overtime has been introduced in the company's factory in Trollhatan to keep up with the demand for new Saab 9-3 SportWagons.
Production targets for the model have also risen by 30 per cent to 20,000 vehicles.
The arrival of the muscular new 9-3 SportWagon marks Saab's first foray into the premium, mid sized estate class as sees it go up against the likes of the new BMW 3-Series Touring as well as the new Volvo V70 and Mercedes C-Class.
Saab are hoping that the 9-3 SportWagon's "distinctive character" and range of engine options, including the 250bhp Aero model, will help it stand out from the crowd.
