Henry's Clio goes under the hammer

One of the country's most famous Renault Clios went under the virtual hammer last week.

The car that featured alongside Thierry Henry in the famous Va Va Voom adverts was placed on Ebay for someone to snap up in one of the ultimate online car deals.

The left-hand drive 2.0 litre 16V silver Renault Clio was used by the player between July 2002 and August 2004.

The Clio 182 has recently proved to be one of the UK's favourite hot hatches, muscling in on the more established VW Golf, Ford Fiesta and Peugeot 206.

Henry's model of course sold for a premium, however a slightly less famous 182 may be the most affordable option in the hot hatch market, with online car deals meaning that it compares favourably on price against many of its rivals.

The alloy wheels, CD players and air conditioning that come as standard also make the Renault Clio 182 excellent value for money.

For those who need even more Va Va Voom, the Clio Renaultsport 182 trophy model, which will be launched this summer, is sure to satisfy.

Its two-litre engine is capable of producing 182bhp and a top speed of 140mph, and the nought to 60 of 6.9 seconds will even catch the French forward in full flight.
