New Peugeot 1007 slides onto market
The new Peugeot 1007 will finally go on sale later this month with a barrage of TV, press and online advertising.

The manufacturer has decided to focus much of its marketing on the car's sliding electric doors describing them as the manufacturer's latest in a 100-year history of "world firsts" in the car market. You and I may call it a gimmick.
The cheap new Peugeot 1007 is the third vehicle that the car-maker has launched into the supermini sector. Despite the similar name it is a distinct model to the new Peugeot 107. Peugeot expects the bolder styling of the 107, which shares a chassis with the new Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo, to appeal to younger drivers, while most 1007 drivers are expected to be 35 and above.
In addition to the two new cheap Peugeots the 206 is also still available, and with a range including petrol and diesel driven options as well as the Peugeot 206 CC the French manufacturer has the sector fairly well covered.

However with rivals like the Ford Ka, Fiat Punto and Vauxhall Corsa all offering low cost options, Peugeot still only expects to attract 15 per cent of the UK supermini market despite having three different models available.
