The first is the 2007 Versa, based on Japan's Tilda. The cheap new car will come with a 120 hp, 1.8 litre engine with four cylinders.
It will be available in two models, a five-door hatchback available in the summer and a saloon that will come out later in the year.
The saloon is almost an inch longer than Ford's Focus saloon and will an interesting addition to the market.
Nissan will also launch a redesigned Sentra, with more additions to its standard equipment. It is newly designed having been scrapped initially after criticisms from customer focus groups.
