VW’s very popular, economical BlueMotion range has now been extended to include the VW Touran and VW Sharan people carriers.

BlueMotion signifies VW’s most efficient model in each of its cars.   To achieve this, VW has made modifications to the aerodynamics, engine and drivetrain.   These adjustments have resulted in increased fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.

The Sharan BlueMotion gives 47.1mpg whilst the Touran BlueMotion achieves 52.3mpg.   VW says that these models are among the most efficient 7-seater vehicles on the market plus are good value for money.   View cheap new VW Sharan BlueMotion deals at UK Car Discount.

Both models also offer the standard specification of other Touran and Sharan vehicles in the range including 7 individual seats, 6 airbags, ABS plus air conditioning.

VW has now extended its highly economical BlueMotion model to other popular cars within the VW range.   BlueMotion is the most efficient model for VW with low CO2 emissions which until recently was only available in the VW Polo.

VW has now produced the BlueMotion in a range of its models – the VW Golf, the VW Golf Plus, the VW Golf Estate, the VW Jetta and the VW Passat.    The same 1.9 litre TDI 105 PS engine is used in all models, this engine is linked to a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in the exhaust system.    

The Golf BlueMotion model has a combined fuel economy of 62.8mpg with low CO2 emissions of 119g/km.   From October 2008 this will mean that both the Polo BlueMotion (1.4 litre TDI engine) and the new Golf BlueMotion will be exempt from the London Congestion Charge and will come within VED bands A and B respectively.

The VW BlueMotion models all have a high level of standard features including Climatic air conditioning plus a host of safety features like ESP and ASR traction control.
