New Model Ford Fiesta Proves Popular

Ford has announced that nearly 11.500 new model Fiestas were sold in the UK during the first 77 days since it went on sale on 01st October 2008. The number of retail customers was more then 9,000. This is around 80% of the vehicles sold which is a big increase on the normal retail sales at around 60%

The Zetec has proved to be the most popular model with 51% of the sales. The Zetec has been introduced with free Bluetooth. Panther Black has taken the lead in the colour table at 21% with Hot Magenta close behind on 15%. The success of Hot Magenta has been attributed to advertising and the interest of the younger female customer.

Marketing Director of Ford of Britain, Mark Simpson has said: “Dealers are telling us that people are coming out of their Peugeot 207s and Renault Clios to get into the new Fiesta. Fabulous style, high levels of equipment and a great price are the reason they want to be seen in the new Fiesta. We expect to attract even more sales from business and economy-minded drivers next year when our ECOnetic model goes on sale.” 

The new Ford Fiesta range starts at £8,514.26 for the Studio model through to the top of the range Titanium priced from £11,841.91. The sporty Zetec S is priced from £12,331.28 with the 76mpg ECOnetic starting from £11,594.68. UK Car Discount are currently offering huge discounts on the new Ford Fiesta.
