New Mazda 5 Specs

Published Date: 26th Jun 2005

Mazda has announced the definitive spec list for the cheap new Mazda 5.

Like the new Mazda 5, the new Vauxhall Zafira goes on sale this week and apart from some extra storage compartments and tweaked body work it is not too different to the first generation model.

The new Mazda 5 hopes to tempt customers away from the Zafira with a relatively low cost coupled with improved equipment levels. With six seats as standard and a fold out seventh it matches the new Vauxhall Zafira for space and its four engine and equipment levels ensure that there is a Mazda 5 to match a range of budgets.

Initially the same 1.8 litre and 2.0 litre petrol engines that are used in the cheap new Mazda 6 will be available, with a standard 2.0 litre diesel and a 2.0 litre turbo diesel joining the line up later in the year.

Each new Mazda 5 will come with a CD player, six airbags, electric front windows, a Category 1 alarm and electric heated wing mirrors as standard.

Moving up through the range to the less cheap new Mazda 5 options, customers can choose from steering wheel mounted audio controls, roof rails and even foldaway picnic tables.

The Mazda 5 Sport model adds traction control, stability control, 17 inch alloys, fog lamps and a rear spoiler while drivers of the new Mazda 5 Sportnav model will enjoy a fancy rear parking camera and DVD satellite navigation as standard.
