New Honda Accord Model
Published Date: 15th Feb 2008
Honda will be unveiling its updated Accord model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008. The new model Honda Accord will again be available from launch in July 2008 in both Saloon and Tourer versions.
Although the new model Honda Accord will not look too different to the current Accord model, it is significantly wider and slightly lower. Honda says the new model has used the BMW 3 Series as a benchmark in terms of engineering and will have better handling.
The Honda Accord will be available with a choice of two petrol engines (a 2.0 litre and a 2.4 litre) plus a new clean diesel engine called the i-DTEC. Giving 148bhp, this new diesel engine replaces Honda’s current i-CTDi and Honda say it will be more powerful, smoother and cleaner. All engine types are linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engines can be ordered with 5-speed automatics from launch date but this option will not initially be available on the new diesel model - this will be available from early 2009.
Honda is expecting to see increased sales of the new model Accord due to its improvements in both engineering and quality of the model. Honda has spent a great deal of time and effort on designing a good quality interior which features floating, back-lit, instruments and a central LCD multi-information display.
