New Cars and Technology at CES 2016

Published Date: 30th Dec 2015

The Consumer Electronics Show is not really a motor show but with the increasing safety and technology on the cars of today there can only be a computer chip and software bringing the new features to life.

Last year there were iterations of Apple car play and Android Auto shown off, alongside Audi’s virtual cockpit interface. There were also big names in the motor industry such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz giving us an insight into the self-driving cars they are hard at work on. It also featured Nvidia a big name in the computer world providing the processing power for the self-driving technology.

So what can we expect to see from the Las Vegas held show on the 6-9th of January 2016?

Volkswagen have already teased a new concept electric car to be reveled at the show. Chevrolet will launch their new electric car model the Bolt previously seen at the Detroit motor show 2015. The Bolt promises to bring an affordable step into the electric car market for the consumer with a range expected to be 200 miles

Toyota will be showing off a new idea for creating digital maps. Instead of sending a fleet mapping cars out like google, Toyota plans to bring the technology to its production vehicles and crowdsource the latest new streets and maps.

A new name in the Motor Industry, Faraday Future is set to reveal a concept car at the show. Faraday Future is an electric car company set to take on the likes of Tesla. They have been taking on technology and automotive engineers from Tesla and BMW but have not released anything yet. The company also plans to purchase a £670 million ($1 billion) factory in Las Vegas so all we need now is a peek at the end product.
