It’s based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT; the Shelby American GT has been revealed as a high performance alternative for the Ford Mustang range. The 2015 Shelby GT is due for international delivery after winter 2015, and is the very first model in the company’s history to be developed and designed as a global car.
Massive performance was the plan and with 50 years’ experience in the field behind it, the new American model will be built with all exterior parts developed and designed by Shelby America. This will be the most powerful Shelby Mustang ever offered to customers worldwide, the new American GT uses lightweight carbon fibre for all aerodynamic components including the new bonnet with inter-changeable air vents and a huge power bulge.
Conceived for the first time in 2007 with a 4.6L Mustang as its base, the Shelby GT was assembled by Ford before being transported to Shelby in Las Vegas for its final tweaks. The latest 2015 Shelby GT has been developed in-house and is to be sold all over the world via the Ford Mustang’s distribution network stretching globally.
To get your hands on a Shelby GT, current 2015 Mustang GT Fastback or Convertible owners can get in contact with their dealer and pay a one-off £26,500 upgrade fee. Shelby will then make all the modifications and produce the car with a unique number and official documentation to prove its upgrade authenticity.
The 2015 Shelby GT keeps its performance stats - featuring Ford Racing Performance Parts including a 618bhp supercharged engine, a new nimble handling kit and a chrome-tipped Brand exhaust. Brakes are kept in check by a Wilwood six piston braking system.
This new 2015 GT is propped up by a set of WELD Racing wheels and iconic Michelin tyres as well as giving you a choice of many upgrade options. This includes a ‘15 Shelby GT’ version of the car with a 700bhp+ performance upgrade package, adjustable suspension and an upgraded brake kit.
