The awards' judges praised the new Mini's automatic roof, "stylish design, top-notch quality and fun handling", all of which have helped it to four months of record new car sales since March 2005. Since its launch in 2001 the new Mini has re-established itself as one the country's favourite cars, so much so that the remodelled motoring icon has even produced more new car sales than its manufacturer expected. Cheap new cars from Peugeot, Citroen and Toyota are about to take to Britain's showrooms in the shape of the new Citroen C1, the Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 107. All of which are aimed at the same youthful market as the new Mini.
