Fiesta takes on charity road trip
The Ford Fiesta's 30th birthday will be marked by a 23-day, 4,000-mile trip around Britain's coastline.
Kieran and Karen Sandwell, looking to raise money for the Grown-Up Congenital Heart (GUCH) Patients' Association, will take on the drive in a new 1.4-litre Ford Fiesta Ghia loaned to the Essex couple by the car firm.
Mr Sandwell, aged 35, has had a life-long battle with GUCH and is looking to raise the profile of the condition, as well as the charity itself, with the help of local sponsors.
"We thank Ford for helping to make this event possible. We wanted to give something back to the charity that has helped me over the years," he said.

Chris Muers, Ford Fiesta product manager, commented: "The Fiesta is the perfect partner for Kieran and Karen's challenge. In the 30 years since Fiesta was launched, the car has proved it's durable, reliable and fun to drive."
"We know the Shadwells will have a safe and enjoyable trip in the Fiesta- Britain's favourite small car," he added.
The cheap new Ford Fiesta Ghia 2006 will have to travel an average of 175 miles a day for the three-and-a-half-week challenge in what will be a true test of the car's estimated 45 mpg fuel consumption!
