C1 and you'll take one

Prices have been announced for Citroen's new super mini.

The C1 hits the streets this week and its ample list of standard equipment will make it one of the best new car deals on the market.

With a list price of just £6,495 the city car comes equipped with: ABS anti-lock brakes, twin air bags, stability control and an MP3-compatible CD player. Air conditioning is available for an extra £500.

The one litre petrol engine gives it excellent fuel consumption and puts the car in the lowest insurance group, making the Citroen C1 a very cheap new car to go motoring in.

Five and three door options are available and the 'Rhythm' version adds side rubbing strips, remote central locking and body-coloured door mirrors and handles.

Inside the car, 'Rhythm' customers also get a rev counter, velour upholstery, two side airbags, rear seat head restraints, front electric windows and split-folding rear seats.

The Citroen C1 is part of a new breed of low cost new cars to hit the market this summer. The Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo share the same production line as the C1 and will offer almost identical features at very similar prices.

Consumers should be aware that while £6,495 is the manufacturers list price for dealerships, the car may be available at reduced price if buyers shop around and hunt online.
