2022 Nissan X-Trail Release Date | Preview
Published Date: 10th Jan 2022
The all-new 2022 Nissan X-Trail is set to go on sale in the UK mid to late 2022. Already available in China where it is a big seller, Nissan’s spacious SUV is available with 5 or 7 seats and will feature Nissan e-Power technology for the first time.
What is e-Power?
e-Power is Nissan’s hybrid powertrain that features a petrol engine, that is used solely for charging the larger battery. The battery in turn powers the electric motor which is dedicated to sending power to the wheels. The result is a hybrid powertrain that is quiet, delivering a full electric car like experience.
The e-Power system does not need to be plugged-in or charged as the petrol engine takes care of charging the battery pack, instead you top up your petrol tank as and when needed, the same as a traditional petrol car.
2022 X-Trail With 5 or 7 Seats
Nissan will continue to offer the new X-Trail with 5 or 7 seats. The X-Trail effectively filled the gap left when Nissan discontinued the 7-seater Qashqai (aptly name the Qashqai+2) a few years ago.
2022 X-Trail Design & Dimensions
Some of the new design features in the 2022 X-Trail have already been seen in the impressive new Nissan Qashqai, including a split LED front lights, LED rear lights and new chrome grille.
The 2022 Nissan X-Trail will also sit a tad lower to the ground and a be a little shorter than the outgoing model, hopefully the shorter dimensions will not impact the third-row seats for those who opt for 7-seats.
2022 Nissan X-Trail Specs
Full specs are yet to be released but you can expect similar specs to the new Qashqai. All models will get plenty of driver aids and safety tech and Nissan’s next-level ProPILOT semi-autonomous driving tech will be available.
Entry-level models will likely be available with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while higher grade models will get a bigger infotainment screen and a digital driver display.
