2019 Renault Kadjar - Updated And Improved

Renault have released details and specs of their updated Kadjar model that they will be showcasing at the upcoming Paris Motor Show on the 4th - 14th October.

The Kadjar is Renault’s mid-sized SUV that competes with the UK’s best-selling Crossover the Nissan Qashqai and other vehicles in a very popular class like the Kia Sportage, Seat Ateca, Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Yeti.

Renault have not been shy in embracing the ever-increasing demand for SUV/Crossover vehicles and the Kadjar sits in their SUV range between the smaller Renault Captur that competes with vehicles like the Nissan Juke and the larger, more rugged Renault Koleos that competes with cars like the Nissan X-Trail.

2019 Renault Kadjar Exterior PhotoOne of the big pulls of the Kadjar has been its stylish looks, so styling tweaks are subtle but effective, with some new additional dashes of chrome trim plus revised front and rear bumpers to accommodate new light clusters.

At the front a redesigned/wider grille has been lowered slightly to accommodate the higher position of the new square fog lights that were previously round. At the rear of the vehicle the indicators are now built-in to the C-shaped daytime running light signature, which is now wider and gives a stronger look to the rear of the vehicle. reversing lights, fog lights and indicators have all been upgraded to LEDs.

Frim the side there’s little change, however the Kadjar does get newly designed 17-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels and some new paint colours that include shades of grey, green and blue.

Inside the Kadjar Renault sees a lot of tweaks and improvements with materials and the overall feel of the interior given a more upmarket feel.

2019 Renault Kadjar Interio PhotoLots of switches have been improved with some now backlit and the door handles, surrounds and trim have a metallic finish. The seats have been given particular attention by Renault redesigned using new foam material to offer superior support and comfort.

The new infotainment system fits snuggly into the dashboard and both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available for smartphone users, whilst rear passengers get their own USB sockets to power/charge their gadgets.

2019 New Renault Kadjar Engines

Two new 1.3 petrol turbocharged engines will be introduced to the 2019 Kadjar range, a 138bhp and the more powerful 158bhp unit, both will be offered with either manual or Renault’s EDC automatic transmission.

The 1.5 dCI diesel engines have been given a power upgrade, the outgoing 109bhp and 128bhp engines will be replaced with 113bhp and 148bhp unit and the new engines are branded ‘Blue dCi’ to signify the new integrated technology and improvements aimed at making the new diesels cleaner than their predecessors with lower NOx emissions.

An official release date for the facelifted 2019 Renault Kadjar model has not been released yet, but it is expected to be on sale in the UK in the first quarter of 2019, so should be available on the new March 19 Plate.
